There is no training at the city centre club on Good Friday or Easter Monday.

Welcome to YorkJitsu the web site about Jiu Jitsu Clubs in the beautiful and historic city of York.  The web site features a wealth of information about the ancient Samurai fighting art known as Jiu Jitsu and about the clubs in and around the city.

A student of the martial art of Jiu Jitsu looks to use an assailant's attack against them through application of movement, redirection and balance.  Using a combination of throwing, locking, restraining and striking techniques, students can deal with a myriad of potential attacks including release from grabs, countering strikes & restraints, multiple assailants and a variety of melee weapons.  In fact employing Jiu Jitsu allows a student to tailor their response to an attack from simply escaping, to restraining and disarming or even to damaging or disabling an attacker.

The breadth of techniques and scenarios studied in Jiu Jitsu is possibly its greatest strength when compared to other martial arts and it is a great choice for men, women and children of any experience (including total beginners) and ability.

So if you want to know more, why not join a club?
