Who are The Jitsu Foundation?
The Jitsu Foundation is the governing body for the Samurai Jiu Jitsu clubs both in the UK and
throughout the world.
Who are the 'TJF'?
'TJF' is an acronym for "The Jitsu Foundation".
What do The Jitsu Foundation do?
The Jitsu Foundation is responsible for giving instructor's their club instructor mandates and
making sure that the quality of the style does not decrease but rather increases. The
foundation handle all licence applications, and organise all national (and some regional)
courses and events.
Who are 'Studio 3'?
Studio 3 is the name for the part of The Jitsu Foundation that teaches more specialised
courses for 'non-martial artists'. These courses focus on psychological as well as physical
approaches to violence. Essentially it promotes violence awareness in situations appropriate
for the students.
Examples of the sorts of people the courses are given for would be teachers, social workers,
librarians, nurses and traffic wardens.
