The Jitsu Foundation - Events

The Jitsu Foundation organise a variety of events across the UK and even some international events. The events are of course Jitsu based and fall into the following broad types:

  • Competitions
    • National Atemi Competitions - A competitive demonstration of Jiu Jitsu technique.
    • National Judo Competitions - A 'friendly' Judo competition between foundation clubs.

  • Courses
    • Weapons - Bo & Sword courses form the majority of these courses.
    • First Aid - a pre-requisite for club instructors but encouraged for all grades.
    • Regional Instruction - a quarterly course held for all the clubs in a region.
    • Directional - courses aimed at instructors to guide 'Jitsu' development.
    • Instructor - courses for teaching how to teach Jitsu.
      • Assistant Instructor - for teaching individuals and small groups.
      • Instructor - for teaching medium groups and club sessions.
      • Club Instructor - for teaching regular club sessions and large groups.
      • Junior Instructor - for teaching children.

  • Events
    • Summer Ball - an annual Jitsu course and black tie affair.
    • Summer School - a few days of Jitsu in the Lake District.

  • Gradings
    • Regional: For up to second kyu.
    • National: Bi-/Tri-annual for first kyu.
    • National: Annual for Dans.
