The Jitsu Foundation - Events
The Jitsu Foundation organise a variety of events across the UK and even some international
events. The events are of course Jitsu based and fall into the following broad types:
- Competitions
- National Atemi Competitions - A competitive demonstration of Jiu Jitsu technique.
- National Judo Competitions - A 'friendly' Judo competition between foundation clubs.
- Courses
- Weapons - Bo & Sword courses form the majority of these courses.
- First Aid - a pre-requisite for club instructors but encouraged for all grades.
- Regional Instruction - a quarterly course held for all the clubs in a region.
- Directional - courses aimed at instructors to guide 'Jitsu' development.
- Instructor - courses for teaching how to teach Jitsu.
- Assistant Instructor - for teaching individuals and small groups.
- Instructor - for teaching medium groups and club sessions.
- Club Instructor - for teaching regular club sessions and large groups.
- Junior Instructor - for teaching children.
- Events
- Summer Ball - an annual Jitsu course and black tie affair.
- Summer School - a few days of Jitsu in the Lake District.
- Gradings
- Regional: For up to second kyu.
- National: Bi-/Tri-annual for first kyu.
- National: Annual for Dans.
