I'm Going to Learn Jiu Jitsu ProgrammeThis August through October York Town Jitsu Club is working with the City of York Council to provide a fantastic opportunity for young people to try Jiu Jitsu.
The course will teach students new skills in a practical and fun way. So if you want to learn some applied self defence, to get a bit fitter or even just to do something fun and new then we have just the thing. Along with the usual striking techniques you may see in other martial arts, you'll also learn how to throw people and how to be thrown without getting hurt. You'll learn how to release someone's grip and how to lock and manipultate someone's joints to restrain them, and you may even learn one or two other special techniques along the way. Last but not least by taking part in the course you'll get to make lots of new friends. Anyone can take part regardless of level of fitness or experience. The only restriction for this particular programme is that you are between the age of 6 and 19 (if you are older you can still join the club but you are not eligible for the programme). So how much does this cost? Well that depends a little upon your age but the table below shows not only how much it costs to join the programme, but how much you save. Not only does the course of the programme include the cost of the training sessions, but also the annual licence fee that provides your British Jiu Jitsu Association of Great Britain insurance to train.
So how do you sign up? That's easy. In order to take part you must pre-register your place on the course by e-mailing learn@yorkjitsu.org. When you come along to the session please bring with you your session fee and come with appropraite clothes to train in (e.g. T-shirt and jogging bottoms; changing facilities are available at the school). You will also need to bring with you three completed forms that you can download from the links below:
If you do not have appropriate clothing, do not bring the completed forms or do not bring your session fee we will unfortunately not be able to let you take part. We look forward to seeing you and we hope you'll be looking forward to learning Jiu Jitsu.
