YTJC Block Session Payment Option

Over the summer of 2009 the YTJC committee has been busy planning and has proposed a new payment option for anyone training at the club.  Whilst payments on a per session basis will still be available, the committee has been looking at discounts for people training regularly.

So here's the YTJC deals...

  • Deal 1 - The half season ticket for those who train once a week.
  • Deal 2 - The full season ticket for those who train twice a week.

The details about the deal can be found below, but first of all a bit of extra explanation...

  • A season is taken as three calendar months from the date of the first session paid for.
  • An average three month period will be about 12 weeks.

FAQ

If you have any questions about this please speak to a member of the committee ... assuming it isn't already in our handy frequently asked questions section:

1. What happens if I pay in the middle of a month?

The payment covers you three months from the next training date (which could be the same day).  In order to make things easy for you to remember and the club to administer we'll just be using calendar dates.  If you pay right at the end of a month (e.g. 31st) then this will be approximated to the end date of the month three months ahead.

2. What happens with bank holidays

The club actually trains on many bank holidays.  However there are some times when the club be unable to train (e.g. Christmas & Easter).  There is no carry over or rebate during these periods as it is expected that this will average out over time and still provide a discount.  There's only so much administrative overhead the club can deal with.

3. What happens if I'm unable to attend a session?

This will still be included under your deal so by default you won't get any carry over or extension.  If you are unable to attend for an extended period due to exceptional circumstances any potential rebate will be at the discretion of the club committee.

4. If I have the "half season ticket" do I have to pick which session I get free each week?

No you could train Friday one week and Monday the next.  Both sessions would be covered by the deal.

5. If I have the "half season ticket" can I train twice in a week?

Yes you can, but if you train Monday and Friday, you would need to pay your normal per session fee on Friday.

6. Can I bank or carry forward sessions.

No - sorry.  There's only so much discount the club can give.

7. Will this deal always be in place?

Not necessarily.  This is something new we're trying to make things easier for people to continue training in the current economic climate.  If it is not financially viable for the club to continue offering these deals or if there is no take up of the deals then the club committee may decide to withdraw them at any point.  However the club will honour any deals that are in place.  So the more people who use the deals the more likely they are to stick around.

8. What happens if I want to attend a regional course that costs more than £10?

The club will still pay for the course and you get an even better deal!

9. Does the payment by the club for the cost of the regional course include travel or accommodation?

No - just the mat fees.

10. Are nationals covered under regional events?

No - national are national events.  Regional events are specifically those held in Yorkshire, but if you are travelling to another region to attend one of their regional events then this would be covered providing agreement is obtained from a club instructor and the committee first.

11. Are gradings counted as regional events?

Regional gradings are counted as regional events - i.e. any grading up to dark blue.  You must still meet the appropriate grading requirements to take advantage of the payment for the grading ... you can't pay for a deal and automatically get put in for a grading ... we're not that kind of club.

12. What happens if I bring a friend along and they come to a second session?

If you are taking advantage of the buddy scheme then you get a free session.  You can take it any time so just use it at the end of your current block if you on a full season ticket or fit in an extra session one week if you're on the half-season ticket.
