Town Club ReturnTo celebrate the return to our regular dojo at St Olave’s School, York Town Jitsu Club will be running four special focus sessions. The sessions will take place over two weeks from Monday 7th – Friday 18th September 2009.
Each session will be open to beginners as well as more experienced Jitsuka, but the aim is for everyone to learn something new irrespective of their previous experience or how rusty their Jitsu may be! Feel free to bring a friend as it is a great time to start (or re-start) Jitsu.
If your license has expired, then we have an offer to tempt you back. If you renew you licence at the first session you’ll be able to attend all the focus sessions free of charge. If you decide to take us up on this offer you will need to bring your licence fee with you to the first session (£25 Seniors, £15 Juniors).
Focus Sessions
Monday 7th September 7-9pm – Applied Techniques
Explore the use of Jitsu as self defence outside the controlled environment of the dojo, and the potential use for every day objects.
Friday 11th September 7-9pm – Kata
A more controlled style of martial art will dominate tonight. Kata are a way of demonstrating your skill in different areas of Jitsu. We’ll be learning among others sword, throwing and striking kata.
Monday 14th September 7-9pm – Judo
If you’d like a chance to test your skills against your fellow Jitsuka this might be the session for you. We’ll be exploring the nuances of both standing and ground fighting in the judo style.
Friday 18th September 7-9pm – Sticks
To finish off our fortnight of fun we’ll be getting out sticks of all shapes and sizes and learning their ins and outs.
Social
To round off the fortnight we will be having a social.
When: 26th September from 4pm until 7.30pm
Where: Foyer, Megabowl
What: Laser Quest
Seniors are welcome to stay on for a few drinks in the bar and maybe even a friendly game of pool. More info at the focus sessions!
Pricing Incentives
You can continue to pay per session but we’d like to take this opportunity to tell you about a new way to pay:
Please also remember that we do offer free sessions to Jitsuka who bring a friend for two sessions, and of course your friends first session is also free! Hopefully we’ll see you at the dojo soon.
