YTJC - Kata Session

Following on from Monday's Applied Techniques focus session the second session in the series is Kata and will take place this Friday 11th September 2009.  Kata is a traditional form of training in Japanese martial arts but does not form a particularly large part of the Shorinji Kan syllabus.  This session will be an opportunity to learn or refresh some of the syllabus kata as well as pick up some non-syllabus kata too.  This will include some weapons kata as well as unarmed forms.

YTJC - Applied Techniques

Monday the 7th of September 2009 sees the first of our four focus sessions coming to the YTJC dojo.  Sensei Millard will be taking the session which proves to be an interesting look at some practical aspects of Jiu Jitsu from a more walking the streets kind of view.

What sorts of challenges might you face when you're forced to use Jiu Jitsu techniques for real?  What happens when you use techniques outside the dojo and what opportunities does this reveal?  Is Jiu Jitsu really any good for self defence?

How to use RSS feeds

What is an RSS news feed?

RSS stands for "Really Simple Syndication" and is a special page of information that automatically lets you know when a web site is updated.  It is the most expedient way to keep up to date with the areas of YorkJitsu that you are most interested in.

Wikipedia provides a far more detailed explanation for those that are interested.
